The conclusion

Getting to the end of the blog, as this will be the last post, we are going to see an overview of everything we have been seen on the previously posts. We have been seen the types of media used by Netflix on their campaign, the effectiveness of it, what are the IMC tools and which of them were applied on the campaign, and on the last post we saw the relevance of the strategy used in each of the campaign. But this is the sixth post of the blog and unfortunately the last, but not least. So on this post I will make an overview about all this posts, followed by a conclusion with my opinion. So on the first and second post I introduce the brand (Netflix) and talked about the medias used on the campaign, and as we saw the strongest point of their marketing is online, on social media and websites, however the stream media still invest on billboards but not as much as they used to. Furthermore on the third post I presented the IMC tools, what it is and which of those tools are being used on t...

The relevance of Netflix campaigns

We have already been seen on previously posts the types of media used on Netflix campaign, the effectiveness of the campaigns, and the IMC tools applied on each of them what it is. But on this post we are going to see the relevance of their marketing and the campaign focused on this blog, as well as my personal opinion about what I think their campaign has been changing on the market. Firstly, we all know that marketing is a vital part of the company, it is important  to keep increasing the sale of the product, and is on this line of thinking where the relevance of Netflix campaign starts. The first month free trial has been serving it is purpose, I am a example of this, as when I signed up for Netflix, I already knew a bit about what hey had, but not much, so one day I saw on internet an advertising of Netflix to try for free during one month, it is been two years since I signed up, as we can see this is one example of effectiveness and relevance, because maybe if they had not o...

IMC tools

On this post I will talk about the IMC tools applied on the Netflix campaign, but to begin, what are the IMC tools? IMC means Integrated Marketing Communications tools, it refer to integrating various marketing tools such as advertising, online marketing, public relation activities, direct marketing, sales campaigns to promote brands. So based on that and after a bit of research, I realised that their campaign is most and strongest on internet ( online marketing), which is not a surprise nowadays as almost everything is based on internet, as well as advertisements around the city, but as I said on previously posts, their advertisements are based on their differentials, so the campaign that I am presenting on the blog are normally a message on the bottom of billboards, or on the website, on the other hand in this kind of campaign there is no public relation activities involved as they did with the snapchat campaign in France mentioned in a post before. This campaign we can see that i...

The effectiveness of Netflix campaign

Image
If we make an overview of Netflix campaigns, in special the campaign focus of this blog, we can say that it is very effective, even though Netflix is not a really new company, they have conquered many followers and subscribers, to be more specific Netflix has more than 90 million subscribers around the world, and is based on this kind of data that I believe on the effectiveness of their campaign, actually their marketing has been so good that is pretty hard find someone that has never heard anything about Netflix, indeed their campaign is been so good that the Consumer Advocacy group CHOICE after a research found out that the number of people regularly pirating in Australia has dropped to a quarter since Netflix launched. But back to the first month free trial campaign, I could not find anything that proves it effectiveness, but in my personal opinion I believe it has been a very clever strategy, I believe most of people when create an account, even for just one month free, t...

Types of media on Netflix campaign

Netflix does not market themselves and their services as much as they used to, now they market their points of difference from their competitors. However Netflix has still been using all sorts of social media for their campaign such as Youtube, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Snapchat and television as well as billboards on train stations and on the streets. Youtube and television campaigns are their longer ones, that instead of less than a minute, they go on for several minutes. On Twitter they try to get closer to their followers with tex, video and photographs. Instagram most of the posts are formatted with tiles braking up the whole picture, a way to get the attention of Instagram users. In my opinion Netflix is trying to get every time closer to their followers and subscribers, specially through their campaigns such as the one they did with snapchat in France, where the users of snapchat could swap their faces with the most famous characters of Netflix original ser...

Netflix campaign and marketing strategy

Image
You probably recognised this symbol, right? we have all heard of Netflix by now, it is probably the most famous streaming media today, and is thinking on how Netflix became so famous that I decided to make an analysis of their campaign and marketing strategy. Netflix was founded in 1997 by Reed Hastings and Marc Randolph and started to operate with 30 employees, renting dvd by mail, and today they have more than 90 million subscribers around the world. A Netflix campaign and strategy of marketing that I believe it's been very successful, is to give a first month trial for free, in other words they give the first month to new subscribers for free, so people feel attracted to try their services, and once you start to watch the hundreds of films and series they have, such as the Netflix originals (series and films created by them) or many others rewarded films, is hard to stop just on the first month. Even though it's not a new idea, also used by other kind of business...
